Friend,

Farm workers are under attack once again.

Last month, Trump's Department of Agriculture announced that they would stop collecting the data that allows the Department of Labor to determine and set guest worker wages.

For over 100 years, the U.S. has collected this data to determine how much workers under the H-2A program must be paid in order to avoid undercutting the wages of domestic farm workers. The H-2A program allows immigrant workers to temporarily enter the U.S. to perform seasonal agricultural jobs.

Without this data we will not know how much to pay our farm workers - resulting in wage cuts.

The decision by the Trump Administration was made single-handedly without consulting any experts in the field, nor did they give a reason for doing so. Most importantly, they didn't take into account how much this would hurt farm workers and their families.

This move is the complete opposite of what we should be doing during a nationwide pandemic.

Farm workers put their lives on the line every single day- often in harsh weather conditions and during national disasters like the California wildfires- so that the rest of us can have food on our tables.

Instead of cutting their wages, we should be providing more protections and better pay.

Say NO to these proposed cuts. Sign the petition>> bit.ly/359bLeW

To cut their wages in the middle of a pandemic while they are already struggling to make ends meet is outrageous.

I urge you to help us stop these changes from getting implemented.

Thank you,

Juana
