Dear MoveOn member,

This is actor and activist Mark Ruffalo, and I want to share why I’m
voting early this election.

John, I want to live in an America where the climate crisis and
climate policy are taken seriously, where our leadership has a clear plan
to move us through a pandemic of unprecedented proportions, and where
people can make the right choices for their own bodies and reproductive
futures. I want to live in an America where my immigrant neighbors can
live with dignity, where Black lives are valued and protected, and where
our leaders aren’t constantly trying to take health care away from tens of
millions of Americans.

This election, we have a chance to build this America for all of us. But
we can build this future together only if we all use our power and
vote—and then encourage everyone we know to be a voter, vote early, and
vote in-person if they can.

[ [link removed] ]Are you the next voter in District of Columbia? Look up your polling
location to make a plan to vote early or on November 3.

In the first presidential debate, Joe Biden said, “If you’re able to vote
early, vote early. If you’re able to vote in person, vote in person.” This
is good advice.

More than 30 million Americans have already voted early in this election.
This record-breaking turnout gives me hope that we have an opportunity to
win this thing outright. We have so many reasons to be optimistic. We have
the numbers on our side, a vision for justice and equality, and hope that
we can build a better future together—but above all, we have dedicated
progressive voters like you, ready to vote early across America.

Voting early in person is a good way to ensure sure your vote is received
on time and processed securely. Donald Trump and Republicans are trying
every dirty trick in the book to stop votes from Democrats from being
cast. Voting early in person is a great way to get your vote in now.

States are taking real precautions to ensure voting is safe—including
ensuring social distancing, masks, and regular disinfecting. Even if you
have already requested your mail-in ballot, most states allow you to vote
early in person or drop off your ballot in person—which avoids any
challenges to your ballot later.

Election Day voting, or where to drop off your ballot here.

Making a plan to vote is key to successfully casting a ballot, and you can
be the person who helps your friends ensure their voices are heard this
election. We know for a fact that people are more likely to vote when they
are asked by friends or family. It’s time to talk to your friends and
family about voting, especially if they live in battleground states.

November 3.

Together, we can use our votes to transform our communities.

Thanks for all you do.
