Dear John,

Medicare is a bedrock program that has provided North Texas seniors with health care and prescription medication for decades. That’s why I will always work to protect it, especially during this pandemic. 

I am writing today to let you know that the Medicare open enrollment period has begun and will continue until December 7. This is a time for seniors who are new to Medicare to sign up for a health care plan under Medicare, and for current Medicare users to compare and change their plans. Visit medicare.gov to get started!

I’ve helped so many North Texans cut through red tape and get answers from federal agencies, including getting the Medicare benefits that are owed to them. This year, I helped John from Dallas get his application to enroll early in Medicare approved after months of frustration and dead ends. And last year, I helped David from Richardson get his Medicare coverage so he could get treatment for his ailments, including diabetes and a heart attack. 

Securing North Texans’ health care has been my top priority since my first day in Congress. I will continue to fight to make sure families have access to affordable health care and will continue to work to lower costs across the board.
