Today marks two weeks until Election Day -- as well as Kamala Harris’s birthday.
The GOP is trying to paint her as an evil, “radical” mastermind who’s going to secretly control Joe Biden from the shadows if elected, but the American people know better -- that’s why Joe and Kamala are still leading Trump by a LOT in multiple polls.
But the other side knows they’re in trouble, which is why they’re resorting to their most despicable tactics yet. Just last week, Republican Senator Perdue mocked Kamala’s name at a Trump rally in Georgia, in an act of blatant racism. At the same time, Pence has been trying to link Kamala to racial injustice, claiming she “did nothing on criminal justice reform” -- despite the fact that police reform is clearly one of her top priorities. Earlier this year, Kamala co-sponsored the Justice in Policing Act, a bill designed to hold police directly accountable in the wake of George Floyd’s death. It’s Republicans like Pence who are the reason that bill didn’t pass -- but swing voters may not know that. If they believe the VP’s lies, it’s Kamala’s candidacy (and our country) that will pay the price.
With only two weeks left until the election, there’s no time to waste -- we need to make sure swing state voters aren’t swayed by Pence’s slander. The team at ASPIRE is doing everything we can to elect Kamala and other women candidates of color, protect the House majority, take back the Senate, and beat Donald Trump. But we’re running low on funds. If we don’t raise another $3,754 by midnight, we’re going to have to scale back our contributions to congressional candidates who will fight to advance racial justice, promote equality under the law, and protect our democracy from the forces that threaten it.
