Dear Friend,

Please join us next Wednesday, October 28, at 07:00pm ET as we launch our report “Reimagining Children’s Immigration Proceedings: A Roadmap for an Entirely New System Centered around Children.” Immigrant children who seek protection in the United States face a system that is adversarial, complex, and often hostile to the needs and capacities of children. In this report, we reimagine that system as one that welcomes children, protects their rights to be heard, to be with family, to maintain their identity, and to be safe—one that protects their best interests.

Event speakers, including Young Center Executive Director Maria Woltjen, Young Center Child Advocate Program Director Gladis Molina Alt, and Advocate for Children and Youth Elvis Garcia Callejas, will draw on their experiences of working with immigrant children to discuss the need for and possibility of systemic change.
