It’s hard to believe, friend, but it was five years ago tonight that Canadians voted for real change and started the progress we’re making together to build a better Canada.
It was also one year ago that we were in the final stretch of our 2019 campaign, when Canadians chose to keep moving forward with our plan to invest in the middle class and the most vulnerable, grow an economy that works for everyone, and protect a clean environment for our kids.
Of course, our world looks very different than it did last fall, and I think it’s fair to say a lot has happened since then. But if there’s one thing that hasn’t changed, it’s the commitment of people like you.
Last month’s Speech from the Throne laid out our plan to continue doing everything it takes to keep Canadians safe and supported through this global crisis, and to build a better future with bold action on health, the economy, the environment, and equality.
Right now, we have the opportunity to build back better with a Canada that is more resilient, cleaner and more competitive, more inclusive and more fair – for everyone. And as always, it’s your commitment and support that will make it all possible.
So much hard work is already underway to ensure we can keep Canada moving forward. As I write this, there are also two important by-elections underway in Toronto Centre and York Centre, with our extraordinary candidates Marci Ien and Ya’ara Saks and their teams working hard to connect with their communities in new and virtual ways.
We’ll need strong voices like theirs to continue building on the progress we’re making to build a better, stronger, and more resilient Canada.
That’s why I’m hoping you’ll consider chipping in today to support our work in these important weeks and months ahead.
I know that not everyone is in a position to contribute right now, and that’s okay. If you’re able though, I'm hoping you can chip in $10 right now (or whatever amount works for you) to support our progress and keep Canada moving forward
