Our communities are being crushed by two public health crises at once. As COVID-19 cases rise again, the gun violence crisis continues unabated. Every day, more than 100 people are killed by a gun. One hundred lives are cut short. One hundred families are shattered. And one hundred communities are broken.

In the four years since the last presidential election we have witnessed unthinkable tragedy: 58 people were killed in Las Vegas, 17 people were killed in Parkland, 22 people were killed in El Paso, and countless others were killed in incidents that never made headlines—from police shootings and domestic violence incidents, to interpersonal disputes and suicides.
More than 100,000 people have been killed by a gun since Trump took office and at least twice as many have been wounded. And still nothing has changed.
