John,
There's now 15 days left until Election Day. This means we have just about 2 weeks to reach voters across the country and turn them out in droves for progressives down the ballot.
And in Texas, Democrats are mobilizing like never before. Republican strongholds across the state are now on shaky ground — like in Texas' 10th District, where Mike Siegel is running for Congress against a Trump Republican, all while refusing contributions from fossil fuel companies.
Mike is a progressive endorsed by me, Bernie Sanders, and AOC — and as of now, Mike is down only ONE POINT in the polls. This race will be a hard-fought race, down to the last ballot.
Mike has spent his career advocating for the people. As Austin's Assistant City Attorney, he worked to pass one of the first paid sick leave ordinances in Texas and helped lead the legal fight against Texas Senate Bill 4, a 2017 anti-immigrant law.
On the other hand, his opponent is one of the largest investors in fossil fuels in Congress, all while raking in corporate PAC money from lobbyists, special interests, and Big Oil and ignoring the needs of Texans. But Mike is running a people-powered campaign that doesn't rely on support from corporate PACs; instead, he'll focus on making healthcare, good jobs, and clean air and water a reality for everyone.
Winning this race in TX-10 would send a powerful message to Big Oil and the fossil fuel lobby that the Green New Deal is popular and here to stay — even in their own backyard.
Thanks,
Jamaal Bowman
