Dear John,

On Friday I shared with you that racist, hateful merchandise promoting anti-Iranian sentiment was being sold by pro-Trump accounts on Amazon. NIAC immediately followed-up and, within hours, the items in question were removed.

Sadly this is hardly an isolated incident, but rather part of a pattern of anti-immigrant, anti-Iranian sentiment normalized under the Trump administration. First, Bank of America closed our bank accounts because of our ethnic-sounding last names. Then Venmo froze our accounts when -- after dining with friends at our favorite kebabis -- we deigned to write "Iranian food" in the comment line. In each of these instances, we went to bat for you.

And amidst the chaos of this administration, one thing has and will remain constant: NIAC will always fight for you -- not just by challenging the policies harming our community, but by actually building the political power we need to ensure we are at the table where these policies are being made. And with more Iranian Americans running for office than ever before, we are about to make some major moves this election season.

But we need your help! Be part of the solution today: donate to NIAC by chipping in $25, $50, $1,000 -- or whatever you can -- and know you're joining a team that makes sure our community wins BIG this November.

Best,

Jamal Abdi
