Take some time to track your ballot and strengthen democracy

Environmental Champion,
Did you check your mailbox this weekend? Ballots for all registered Washington voters should have arrived this weekend and we want to make sure your vote counts. We are fortunate to have several weeks to fill out and return our ballots in Washington State, but voting as soon as you receive your ballot is a good way to ensure you have a voice in our democracy and that there are no issues with your ballot. We recommend getting your ballot in a mailbox or dropbox as soon as possible, then tracking your ballots status until you see that it has been counted.
Here's what you can do this week for our democracy:
Reach out to your friends and family to make sure they also received their ballot. If they did not, have them contact their County Elections Department [[link removed]] right away. Use WCV’s endorsements [[link removed]] once you open your ballot to see who the environmental champions are on your ballot.Make a plan to return your ballot by dropping it in a mailbox or dropbox.Track your ballot online by using your online voter portal [[link removed]] or following the directions on the perforated tab on the top of your ballot.
We know that voting can be an overwhelming process, but setting aside time early in the voting window is a great way to get your vote counted so you don’t have to worry about it last minute. Set aside time to learn about the races on your ballot, vote all the way down ballot, make a plan to return your ballot, and track your ballot status online.
Thank you for voting early and for making sure your ballot is counted in the November 3rd election.
Onward,
Emily Krieger
