This will take one second.

Hey John: did you see Victory Fund President & CEO Mayor Annise Parker on ABC News earlier this week? Devin Dwyer asked about her groundbreaking run for mayor of Houston and its transformative effect on Texas politics. They also talked 2020 presidential politics, including why Mayor Pete is the best candidate for president of the United States. Catch the full video here:

You'll notice that Mayor Parker didn't fall into the "electability" trap, a word so often used to discount candidates who are women, people of color and LGBTQ. All our LGBTQ candidates - including the one speaking from the Presidential debate stage tonight - know the "electability" myth is part of the reason LGBTQ people are so underrepresented in government.

Donate now to show you believe Mayor Pete and our other LGBTQ candidates ARE electable – and that you stand with them.

After all, when she first ran, Mayor Parker often heard that Texas would never elect someone who was openly LGBTQ. We know people still say these things to our candidates - that their state, town or school board simply isn't ready to elect a candidate like them.

Naysayers tried to tell Mayor Parker that she couldn't win. She did - nine times. People told the first openly LGBTQ Senator in U.S. history, Tammy Baldwin, that she could never win statewide in Wisconsin. She did - twice. They told Danica Roem, Sharice Davids, Candi CdeBaca, Lori Lightfoot. And they still ran. And they still won.

Tonight Mayor Pete hits the debate stage again and will further prove America is ready for LGBTQ candidates – and an LGBTQ president. We join him in not being bothered by "electability". We're too busy electing the next Mayor Parker, the next Tammy Baldwin, the next Mayor Pete. Chip in today.

Thanks again for your support -
