BREAKING NEWS, John:

This morning, President Trump’s hand-picked Director of National Intelligence went on Fox News to repeatedly and baselessly attack Adam, and spread misinformation — all to protect Trump and help his re-election hopes.

It should surprise nobody that Trump’s top intelligence official purposefully misled Fox’s audience, and then accused Adam of “politicizing intelligence.” Like the President, Trump’s enablers project their own serious failings and dishonesty onto others. 

As baseless as they are, these false attacks and smears do lasting damage, and when they come from the head of the intelligence community, they are dangerous. 

In the few hours after this false attack from Trump’s Director of National Intelligence, here’s what has happened:

• “Schiff” has been trending on Twitter for hours with over 120,000 tweets of false attacks from Trump’s cronies.
   
• The President’s son, Don Jr. repeatedly attacked Adam on Twitter to his millions of followers, calling him “Adam full of Schiff,” and worse.
   
• And a far-right Member of Congress intimated that Adam should go to jail. 

Trump and his cronies know exactly what they’re doing. By spreading these false attacks, they hope to discredit Adam and all of his work to hold Trump and those who lie for him accountable.
