Hi —
I have a quick story for you and then a favor to ask. When Governor Walz and I were talking about running for office, I knew there was one person I had to talk to: Tina Smith.
When I texted her, her response was immediate: “Come over and I’ll make us a pot of coffee.”
Tina had served as Lieutenant Governor for Governor Dayton and I had seen the work she had done up close and personal, as she traveled the state of Minnesota hearing from Minnesotans about the issues they were facing and what kept them up at night. She was — and still is — always committed to finding a solution.
We all worked hard to elect Democrats across Minnesota in 2018, including Tina. And now, Tina is running for re-election in November.
Here’s where the favor comes in: Will you chip in $10 to Tina’s re-election campaign today? She’s the only statewide election this year and we’ve got to make sure she has the resources to win, so we can keep her in the U.S. Senate.

From the moment she arrived in Washington, she’s been getting things done for Minnesotans. She’s tackling important issues like making sure Minnesota’s child care providers have the resources they need, lowering the cost of insulin, and making sure our Indigenous communities get the support they need during the coronavirus pandemic.
Tina is the advocate we need in the Senate and I couldn’t be more proud to call her a friend and colleague.
