John, Last week, I participated in WTTW’s candidate forum with my opponent to discuss the most pressing issues of this election. My opponent has been an avowed Trump ally throughout this race, but I’ve got to say, I was still pretty taken aback when he said he thinks President Trump has done “a great job” handling COVID-19 and the bigger problem is that we were too aggressive in shutting down. More than 210,000 people have died, and over 8 million people have been pushed into poverty thanks to this crisis. It’s painful to think that so much of this could have been prevented if we had leaders who believed in science and listened to experts -- and it’s outrageous that anyone would praise this administration's performance. Look, the truth is this pandemic doesn't care if you're a Republican, a Democrat, or an independent. And neither do I. I will fight to make sure everyone -- no matter their party -- has access to quality, affordable health care, paid sick leave, and a living wage. That’s why I got in this race. And it’s why we must win. We know what we’re up against. We have just two weeks to go -- please, make a donation to this campaign today. Thanks, Marie
