Dear John,

Are you angry? Because I’m angry.

I’m angry that leaders in the Senate were just fine delaying financial relief for families who lost their livelihoods in the pandemic and can’t afford food right now, but when it came to confirming an extremist judge just days before an election, they jumped at the chance.

I’m angry that Amy Coney Barrett, an ideological extremist, spent her confirmation hearings trying to hide how much of a threat she’s really going to be to our rights if she’s confirmed to the Supreme Court.

I’m angry that our rights are about to be eviscerated because of politicians who value power more than people’s lives.

Our anger is fueling us right now, and we’ll never give up. Even if we don’t win this one, John, we’re still leaving it all on the field. Following the example of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s dissents, we are making sure that this fight will lead to future victories no matter what. And we will make our dissent known.

This week. we’re going on the record with a letter in the Washington Post to let every senator know: We dissent to this sham process, to this nominee, to this vote. I’m asking you to add your name before 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

Abortion is on the line. Health care is on the line. LGBTQ rights are on the line. John, we know this is going to be bad. We’re prepared to fight as hard as ever in the courts for gender justice and for all of our rights. But we will also make sure we’re not ignored. Join us today and add your name to our letter in the Washington Post >>

These hearings never should have started in the first place. Senate leadership is ignoring the tens of millions of people who have already cast their votes in this election by rushing ahead with Judge Barrett’s confirmation. And while they’ve been busy gaslighting us about Judge Barrett’s extremist record, emergency unemployment programs have run dry. Workers are giving up on finding work. The COVID pandemic is on a catastrophic trajectory.

What they’re doing is wrong. And we are going to ensure everyone knows. Sign the letter of dissent by Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET to make sure your name is included.
