The Arlington Chamber of Commerce is excited to kick off our second annual Arlington Restaurant Week, happening this week from October 19-26! Through this event, diners will enjoy some of the best food the area has to offer at special prices.

Now, more than ever, restaurants need our support. Arlington Restaurant Week is designed to help local restaurants gain exposure through extensive media promotion and to attract new patrons through experiencing their food. We currently have more than 35 participating restaurants. Head to our website to view restaurants, menus, and make reservations.

During Arlington Restaurant Week, post a picture of your dining experience to Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook, tag the location, @ArlVAChamber, and #ARLRestaurantWeek. Each post gives you one entry into our drawing.

34th Annual Best Business Awards Hall of Fame Inductee Announced

Celebrate the best in Arlington business at the 34th Annual Best Business Awards on Tuesday, October 27 from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. This prestigious awards ceremony will be a hybrid event with an in-person option at the Crowne Plaza Crystal City-Washington, D.C. and a virtual option over Zoom.

The Chamber is pleased to announce that the late Erik Gutshall is our 2020 inductee into the Arlington Business Hall of Fame.

The Best Business Awards is one of the most distinguished events in Arlington, recognizing businesses in the Arlington community that go above and beyond to serve clients and make Arlington a great place to work and live. The Government Affairs & Economic Development Committee will hold its Annual Work Session to discuss the Chamber’s Public Policy Positions for 2021. This meeting will cover both the General Assembly and Local Government positions.

Transportation Advocacy

The Chamber wrote two letters in regard to transportation over the past week. The first opposed a proposed WMATA Service Reduction plan. Reducing service could lead to further economic consequences, the impacts of which are likely to be felt most strongly by people who can least afford them. The Chamber believes that maintaining the current service levels is essential to help riders feel comfortable that they can socially distance on Metro services. Read more here.

The second letter was written in support of the 495 NEXT project. The project proposes a plan to extend the 495 Express Lanes from their current terminus north to the George Washington Memorial Parkway. Expanding the lanes will improve travel for all modes on and connecting to the Capital Beltway. Express Lane users will gain new connections to the Dulles Toll Road and George Washington Memorial Parkway, two important regional arterials, promoting connectivity across Northern Virginia.
