The risk of exposure to COVID-19 is still very real -- especially out in the streets! Consider getting tested for peace of mind, collect data on this virus, & keep our communities as safe & healthy as we can right now. If you feel even the slightest bit sick please STAY HOME. And when you show up, mask up!

There's Still Time To Help Grow DSA-LA!
|
National DSA has set an ambitious goal is to recruit 5,000 new members in order to increase DSA's number and win material gains for the working class. DSA-LA, the second largest chapter in the country, is challenging itself to stretch for the goal of 500 recruits during this drive.
That means we need YOUR help, from now until November 7th, to try and recruit three people in their network to DSA-LA. A better world is possible, and DSA Los Angeles is excited to welcome a new wave of people who aren’t willing to settle for voting for the lesser of two evils as the extent of their political engagement.
|
The following list is only a highlight of what's happening this week with DSA-LA. Please check out our online calendar for full list of committee meetings & chapter events! Be sure to also follow our Instagram & Twitter for real-time announcements and calls-to-action!

DSA-LA Street Team: Burbank Meetup
|
Saturday, October 24th @ 11:00AM
|
We are getting out and pounding the pavement to canvass small businesses along Magnolia Blvd this Saturday 10/24 @ 11:00am to build local support Konstantine Anthony’s campaign for Burbank City Council!
This is not your normal canvassing to be sure — and we are dedicated to making this safe and socially distanced.
We will be walking along the iconic commercial corridor to speak with small businesses and distribute signs for Konstantine that they can hang in their windows. This will be an amazing opportunity to boost Konstantine’s visibility in a heavily trafficked part of Burbank as well as to take his message straight to the people who need an advocate to represent them on City Council — not real estate or corporate developer interests.
As socialists, our fight is to keep resources and wealth in the community, and out of the hands of big landlords and outside developers who only care about their bottom line. So join us this Saturday 10/17 @ 11:00am on 2600 W Magnolia Blvd and help canvass for Konstantine!

|
Saturday, October 24th @ 12:00PM-2:00PM

In this training, we will be discussing the basics of what you need to know to participate in a protest as safely as possible. If you’ve never been to a protest before, or if it’s been a little while, or you’re looking to tighten up your game, we’ll be going over some need-to-know tips to make sure you’re doing it as safely, effectively, and sustainably as possible.
Please RSVP to this meeting for connection information.
Mutual Aid Marshaling trainings are usually the third Saturday of every month (however, we moved this month’s a week back for scheduling reasons).
