Friend,

News just broke that Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross threatened to fire top federal weather forecasters after they corrected President Trump's false claim that Hurricane Dorian would hit Alabama.

This means that while the American people were bracing for an impending hurricane, Secretary Ross was more concerned with bullying science agencies into supporting an outright lie from the president than keeping the American people safe from harm.

Threatening to fire scientists for doing their jobs is outrageous – the person who really ought to be fired is Secretary Ross. He's corrupt. He's incompetent. And he should have gone long ago. That's why I'm calling for his immediate resignation, but I need to know that you're standing with me. I'm counting on you to be one of the 1,567 concerned Americans we need to speak out before midnight:

Click here to demand Secretary Ross resign in light of his gross corruption and unethical conduct.

This most recent display of corruption is just one of the abundant reasons that Secretary Ross should go:

He has shown a complete disregard for the rule of law and shattered basic ethics norms. He was brazenly dishonest in sworn testimony about divesting from stocks that he still owns. He gave contradicting testimonies before Congress about adding a discriminatory citizenship question to the 2020 Census.

Being a Trump administration official should not be a license to engage in blatant misconduct with impunity. Secretary Ross cannot be trusted to serve the American people, and he's unfit to lead the Department of Commerce. That's why I need you to take a stand with me right now by demanding his resignation:

If you believe Secretary Ross should be held accountable for his corruption, speak out now to demand he resign immediately.

Thank you for raising your voice for justice today,

Dick
