When Amy McGrath was just 13 years old growing up in Kentucky, she dreamed of one day becoming a fighter pilot. So she wrote a letter to her Senator, Mitch McConnell, and asked him to change the laws that prohibited women from serving in combat. She never got a reply.
Amy persevered and achieved her dreams anyway, overcoming the odds to become the first woman in the Marine Corps to fly a combat mission in an F/A-18 fighter jet. Now she’s taking on another important fight—she’s challenging Mitch McConnell and running for Senate in 2020.
As Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell’s tenure has been disastrous for our country. He has blocked urgent legislation on everything from reforming our gun laws to protecting Dreamers, all while fast-tracking the confirmation of radically conservative judges.
