They said it couldn't be done, but we just got a law passed through
Michigan's Republican legislature to give voters new protections and speed
election results.

[ [link removed] ]There's still more to do and our democracy still hangs in the balance.

Gov. Whitmer signs a law to help make sure every vote gets counted in
Michigan.

Here are more ways you can save our democracy:

[ [link removed] ]Pledge to vote early in person.

[ [link removed] ]Get local info on early voting.

[ [link removed] ]Mark yourself "already voted."

[ [link removed] ]Get a Vote Early facemask.

[ [link removed] ]Volunteer to be a poll worker.

Behind the scenes, a big part of our work lately has been stopping Trump
from stealing the election. If the election’s fair, we should win.

We recently told you: "Big pieces of our plan are moving well behind the
scenes, and we're looking forward to reporting back more to you soon. We
can't share our whole plan since Republicans read these emails too."

Well, now we can tell you! We were told, "Don't even try changing the law
in Michigan” where Republicans control the legislature. We were told
making the election more secure couldn’t be done. Guess what? #DONE!

After months of our organizing and lobbying with great partners, Governor
Gretchen Whitmer signed a major election protection bill into law at the
exact time a right-wing militia was plotting to kidnap her!

Before, Michigan election officials were prohibited by state law from
opening mail-in ballots until Election Day. They dreaded this backlog of
work piling up, which they knew would delay election counts. Our team
organized Republican and Democratic clerks to speak out publicly - and tag
teamed with Republican lobbyists to push a bill forward! Local PCCC
members called their local officials!

Now, local clerks have an extra day to process mail ballots AND there’s a
new requirement they inform voters within 48 hours if a ballot signature
does not match so it can be fixed. The governor signed the bill alongside
Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, who we supported last cycle!

But our work isn’t done. Democracy still hangs in the balance.

[ [link removed] ]There’s a lot more coming in our plan to avoid a stolen election. Can
you please chip in to help us get it across the finish line?

We still can’t share all of it now. But here are some ways you can help
save our democracy!

1) Volunteer to help the voting process locally!

Your local volunteering could empower thousands of people to vote --
securely, safely, confidently. [ [link removed] ]Sign up to be a poll worker in your
community. And [ [link removed] ]tell us if you’re a veteran willing to help.

2) Did you know that making the decision to vote early in person is key to
avoiding a stolen election? You’ve probably been asked to “make a plan” to
vote. [ [link removed] ]Please pledge here to vote early in person if you can. (Already
voted? [ [link removed] ]Tell us here so we focus on others!)

Joe Biden says, "If you’re able to vote early, vote early. If you’re able
to vote in person, vote in person." Elizabeth Warren says, "Vote early,
vote in person if you can."

Why will this help save the election? Trump wants America to think he is
leading on Election Night because more of his supporters voted in person
while votes for Biden by mail take longer to count. If more of us vote
early in person, it will blunt Trump’s efforts to delegitimize the
election. Voting early and in person is the best way for you to ensure
your vote is received on time and processed securely.

States are taking real precautions to ensure voting is safe. Even if you
got a mail ballot, you can still vote early in most states. [ [link removed] ]Check out
Landslide2020.org for info on early voting in your state! And then
[ [link removed] ]pledge to vote early in person here!

3) Polling shows many voters want to vote early in person, but aren’t sure
if it’s possible where they live. Posting your #VoteEarly #InPerson
experience on social media will help educate people. We’ll share some
posts that follow the guidelines below!

* Use both hashtags #VoteEarly #InPerson.
* On Instagram, tag @TheEarlyVote for people to get more info for their
state.
* On Facebook, Twitter, other platforms, link to Landslide2020.org for
people to get more info for their state.
* Tag us on [ [link removed] ]Instagram, [ [link removed] ]Twitter, and [ [link removed] ]Facebook so we can share
you easily. We’ll also share with some celebrities and ask them to
share!
* Urge others to take a photo/video of themselves voting in person early
to spread the word!

4) Sport this mask in your community!

You can support our election protection work while being part of that work
at the same time. [ [link removed] ]Donate here to get one of these stylish masks:

EARLY' facemask. EARLY' facemask.

There are still big pieces of our plan moving behind the scenes that we’ll
share as soon as we can. The Michigan victory was huge, and you can be
part of more victories to come by taking the actions above.

Thank you for being a bold progressive -- and protecting our democracy.
