I wanted to send you a note about our TV budget before it gets to be too late.
Right now, we have three ads running, and in a few days, we’re going to place our final TV buy of the campaign.
We’re running an extensive range of ads to guarantee every voter in NY-01 knows who I am, my track record of accomplishment as a leader, the policies I’ll fight for, and the truth about my opponent Lee Zeldin -- including the 15 times Lee voted against protections for pre-existing conditions and how he has been complicit in the Administration’s failed coronavirus response.
Zeldin has championed Donald Trump’s corrupt and inept actions -- and I am very much looking forward to Suffolk voters holding him accountable for his allegiance for the past four years.
You know, I had hoped Trump would start to show the leadership and empathy demanded by this difficult moment, especially after he contracted the dangerous virus that has turned all of our lives upside down. Sadly, President Trump has continued his recklessness and nonchalance over the millions of people affected by the pandemic and the 215,000 who have lost their lives, and he has even endangered his own staff, his supporters, and, tragically, our national security.
We can no longer allow hyperpartisanship to decide our nation’s course of action. We can no longer allow the GOP to say that the elderly and immunocompromised will have to die to maintain our economy. We need leaders who care about us. We need leaders who will respect our scientific experts rather than shut them down as an inconvenience.
And with just 16 days until the election, we’re going to have to pull out all the stops.
But national Republican groups like the NRCC, CLF, and AAN are spending heavily against us to paint an alternate reality, and I’m counting on you to help us flip this district Red to Blue by building the strongest TV strategy NY-01 has ever seen.
The data show we can win, but we have to make this TV buy count -- and I need your help to close the gap in our budget so we can defeat one of Trump’s closest allies in the House once and for all.
