Dear MoveOn member,
The more we learn about Amy Coney Barrett, the more terrifying the future
looks—if Democrats fail to win control of the Senate in just 16 days.
Trump's Supreme Court nominee to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg called the
legacy of Roe v. Wade "barbaric."^1
She denounced the high court's past rulings upholding the Affordable Care
Act—just as the Supreme Court is poised to hear the GOP's latest case
seeking to strike down the law.^2
And during her confirmation hearings this week, she refused to acknowledge
that climate change is real, that voter suppression is illegal under
federal law, that the president doesn't have the unilateral authority to
delay elections, and much more.^3
Just 48 years old, Barrett could usher in a radical conservative era in
America for decades to come, and progressives would have few tools to
fight back—unless Democrats flip the Senate in November.
Control of the Senate is on a knife's edge, and we have to do everything
in our power to ensure we win not just the White House but a majority in
the Senate on November 3. That's why MoveOn is doubling down on our
multimillion-dollar Senate ad campaign in the critical states of Arizona,
Maine, and South Carolina—and now expanding to Georgia—to turn out the
vote among Democratic-leaning voters who are typically ignored by the
Establishment.
But this TV, digital, radio, and streaming ad campaign is funded entirely
by donations from MoveOn members, and our ability to keep the ads up, run
them during prime time, and make sure that the right voters see them is
entirely up to members like you. Will you chip in $3 a week to help power
MoveOn's closing argument in these critical Senate battleground
states? (MoveOn will bill your weekly donation to your credit card once a
month starting today and will contact you shortly after the election to
see if you want to modify or cancel your weekly donation.)

[ [link removed] ]No, I'm sorry, I can't chip in weekly.
MoveOn's data analytics team meticulously tested dozens of different ads
to determine which messages have the strongest impact on motivating our
target audiences—high-potential voters, including young people and people
of color—to get out and vote. Our ads are based on this research and are
tailor-made to turn out the vote among these Democratic-leaning voters who
are often ignored by the Establishment.
Our massive ad blitz will help bring these key voters to the polls and
push Senate Democratic candidates over the top in very tight races.
But with only 16 days left before voting ends, we need your help to expand
this work to Georgia and keep the ads running in the other critical Senate
battleground states. Will you chip in $3 a week to power our massive ad
campaign to flip the Senate? (MoveOn will bill your weekly donation to
your credit card once a month starting today and will contact you shortly
after the election to see if you want to modify or cancel your weekly
donation.)

The goal of our ads is to defeat Senators Susan Collins, Martha McSally,
Lindsey Graham, and Kelly Loeffler—and that goal could not be more
important. Because not only will that flip control of the Senate to
Democrats, it will also sweep out four of the worst Republican senators in
recent memory.
In Arizona, Martha McSally lost her 2018 Senate run, only to be appointed
weeks later by the state's Republican governor.^4 Since then, she has
voted with Trump 95% of the time, including supporting his despicable,
inhumane policies toward immigrants and refugees, refusing disaster aid to
American citizens in Puerto Rico, and repealing clean-air regulations by
the EPA.^5
She is trailing Democrat Mark Kelly, but their race is tightening, and we
need to do everything we can to win.^6 Our ads are aimed at inspiring the
large Latinx population in Arizona to vote for Kelly and Joe Biden.
Similarly in Georgia, Kelly Loeffler is also serving as an appointed
member of the Senate, and in her entire time in office she has never once
voted against Trump's wishes.^7 Additionally, Loeffler—the richest member
of the Senate—is under fire for dumping millions of dollars in stock after
a closed-door meeting about the coronavirus in January, months before the
public was aware of the risks from the pandemic.^8
MoveOn members in Georgia have just endorsed civil rights leader Reverend
Raphael Warnock, the pastor at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, who
is tied in a tight race with Loeffler.^9 Our ads will be focused on
turning out young people and people of color across Georgia for Rev.
Warnock.
Just a few weeks ago in Maine, Sara Gideon was holding a steady lead over
Susan Collins, but recent polling shows that her lead has tightened
substantially, and Collins has gone aggressively negative to save her
political life.^10 We cannot let her win. Our ads in Maine target women
who have been repeatedly let down by Collins' false claims of moderation.
Finally, in South Carolina, we are on the cusp of replacing Lindsey
Graham, Trump's biggest lap dog, with a true progressive champion: Jaime
Harrison. Graham's shameless, groveling performance during this week's
confirmation hearings for Amy Coney Barrett is just one more example of
how low Graham will go to please Trump and the GOP base, and although
Jaime has done incredible work to make this race competitive, it's on us
now to show up for Jaime in these final days.^11
Our ads in South Carolina are focused on turning out the state's large
Black voting population to send a clear message: If you turn your back on
your constituents and try to rip health care away from millions of people
in the middle of a pandemic, you will lose your job.
We have to keep these ads on the air, running in prime time, and
blanketing social media—and we need to keep testing and refining our
messaging to make these ads as effective as possible.
We don't have much time. Please, start a $3 weekly donation right now to
MoveOn's final push to flip the Senate. (MoveOn will bill your weekly
donation to your credit card once a month starting today and will contact
you shortly after the election to see if you want to modify or cancel your
weekly donation.)

Here's the bottom line, John: We cannot allow a 6-3
ultraconservative Supreme Court with Amy Coney Barrett to strip away our
rights and freedom and further tip the balance to corporations and the
already powerful. Flipping the Senate is going to be hard, and we have to
pull out all the stops to make it happen in these final days.
Join us—while there's still time.
Thanks for all you do.

Want to support our work? As Senator Elizabeth Warren says, "If you are
committed to helping win this life-or-death fight, now is the moment to
step up. MoveOn and I are giving this fight our all." With just days left
in one of the most consequential elections in U.S. history, we have an
urgent question:
Will you chip in $3 a week to help MoveOn power a blue wave, defeat Trump,
and flip the Senate?
