I’ve been thinking a lot about the idea of trust lately, and how so much of what we define as leadership relies on trust. To earn – and maintain – trust, a leader must show a track record of decision-making that puts the best interest of all people first.
When I decided to endorse Qasim last month, the decision was two-fold. On one side, I saw a family-oriented, values driven man who has spent his career serving and protecting others with the law as his guide. On the other hand, I saw someone who’s held this office for 13 years but has left the people of his district dissatisfied and searching for solutions, while he has chosen to align with a disastrous presidency 95% of the time.
The 2020s can be a comeback decade for America – reaffirming our position as the global leader among nations – but only if we have elected officials who lead through service and with forward-looking ideas. I know Qasim, along with Cameron Webb who I am also proud to be supporting, are ready to serve.
