It's so important that we elect lawmakers who not only intimately understand the struggles of working folks, but will also fight for them in Congress. That's why I endorsed Julie Oliver for Congress in Texas' 25th District.
Like me, Julie is a political outsider. She's running for Congress to fight for Texans and progressive policies. And as a young mother who grew up poor and was briefly homeless, Julie knows firsthand the struggles that so many working families in this country face — because she's lived them, too.
I hope to join Julie in Congress to fight alongside her for working-class families across the nation. But while her election is within the margin of error, her district is heavily gerrymandered and deep-red.
Make no mistake: Julie has the momentum to win. But she's facing incumbent Roger Williams, a Trump Republican who outspent Julie by 2-to-1 last quarter. Now, Roger has a bunch of super PACs coming in at the last minute to help his campaign and shut down our progressive movement.
Julie's team has been organizing and fighting hard to make sure each voter in TX-25 knows about her candidacy and has a chance to cast their vote safely before November 3rd. But time is quickly running out — and I need your help to ensure she has the resources to reach as many voters as possible and win on Election Day.
