After watching the rigged Senate confirmation hearings for Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Amy Coney Barrett, I can finally agree with Mitch McConnell on one thing: Elections. Have. Consequences. My daughter is almost two years old. Donald Trump and McConnell are constructing an America so alien to our values, she may never have a memory of a time when women could make their own healthcare choices. Today, I’m asking you to join me in fighting for my daughter and every little girl who deserves a better America. Can you chip in immediately to help me secure the House, elect a Democratic majority in the Senate, and take back the White House?
Defeating Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell is not an option — it’s a necessity. The damage they are wreaking on our rights is incalculable. Trump and McConnell are treating the executive and legislative branches as personal playthings for their political whims — and now they’re coming for the judicial branch. They want more judges and justices sitting on the bench like Amy Coney Barrett who will decide cases based on conservative ideology and extreme views, the American people be damned. The Trump-McConnell agenda is to fashion America in their extreme image. An America that does not reflect the decency, humanity, and shared values of the American people. An America with no respect for my daughter or the next generation of women who may never have the opportunity to make decisions about their own bodies.
