Green Party mailing
Dear John,

You won't have heard much from us in recent weeks as we've been very busy
with members-only events such as the Green Party's first online Conference
and our preparations for WCL's own AGM which is being held online tomorrow.
Attached is our Annual Report which I hope you'll find of interest.

I'm standing down as Chair/Coordinator and our new team will be elected
tomorrow for the vital year ahead: not only 2021's Mayoral and Assembly
elections, but also the start of campaigning for 2022's local elections.
There's still plenty of time for supporters to become party members [1] and
make an impact in your own borough / constituency by getting more involved,
so please do consider joining not just the Party but also the Breakthrough
2022 team [2].

With your support, the Green Party has made impressive progress in local
elections over the last four years. Throughout the UK, we have more than
tripled our number of local councillors. And, after a great start on
campaigning for Siân Berry, our candidate for Mayor, early this year, we
were running at an unprecedented 11% in London before lockdown.

Although the election had to be postponed, we are increasingly confident
that we can get more Green Party representatives into the London Assembly
than ever before - especially our own WCL candidate Zack Polanski, who is
number 3 on the list after Siân and Caroline Russell. As the Green Party
national conference opened last week, we moved above the Lib Dems to third
party in London, according to YouGov polling.

We are asking all West Central London members and supporters to get more
involved and hope you will join us in Breakthrough 2022, starting with our
next big Action Day on 24th October [2] when Assembly and Mayoral election
campaigning restarts. Although elections might seem quite far away, we know
it's crucial to begin as soon as possible to ensure the best ever result.
We have already selected target wards, and won support from the national
party, so can soon move forward on candidate selection.

Even if you aren't able to become a more active participant, please do
keep an eye on our website and social media.

With best wishes,
Vivien Lichtenstein
Chair / Coordinator
West Central London Green Party

ps If you're not ready to become a member [1], you might consider becoming
a Green Friend [3].
