12 September 2019

Dear John

Come on mission with us in prayer for three missions in one week - Uganda, Zimbabwe, and DRC (22-29 September).

Please pray for the Godly preparation of missioners and for people’s hearts to be ready to receive the Good News.

Uganda Leadership Mission

Arua Uganda is an important refugee and transport hub close to both the South Sudan and DRC borders. Missionaries first brought the gospel to Arua in 1918 – the church has since grown greatly in numbers but remains weak on theology.
Over the last three years, AE Uganda has reached out to refugee camps in partnership with local churches in Arua. This mission will draw from that previous work and seek to further empower leadership in this part of the country.

Please pray for

* The Holy Spirit to prompt a desire to lead like and under Jesus
* Effective targeting and evangelising of leaders, and for these leaders to be convicted and repent of any ethical gaps in leadership
* For Christians to be convicted and equipped to evangelise local Muslims (40% of the population)
* For South Sudanese refugee leaders to be equipped to promote Christian peace and reconciliation.
* A daycare to be established for working mothers in leadership.

DRC (Kolwezi/Lubumbashi) “Kolwezi, Cheer Up! Your Lord is Calling You” (Mark 10:49)

Kowlezi is a major mining centre where many people live a miserable life as virtual slaves to digging for these resources. Most of the world’s cobalt – an essential ingredient in our mobile phones, comes from the DRC. Christian leaders in neighbouring Lubumbashi who have been working with AE DRC since 2015 have asked AE to go to Kowlezi. Those who have been trained will now be deployed to their neighbours.

Prayer requests:

* A daycare to be established for working mothers in leadership.
* That the people of Kolwezi (and all mobile phone users worldwide!) will experience the glory that is in Christ and not in the things of this earth.
* For the local church to preach the truth that sets free from all fears.
* That the Trauma Healing seminar will bring relief among traumatised families.
* The University dinner taking place during mission, that it would start a prayer movement.
* That God, through the Holy Spirit, will send many hungry and thirsty souls to give their lives to Christ in response to the mission

Zimbabwe Mission (Bulawayo)

For the various Zimbabwe mission volunteers, that they will not to grow weary because of the socio-economic and political challenges that Zimbabwe is going through. Hyperinflation, fuel, water and food shortages are creating significant unrest and this mission will be put back by a couple of weeks as a result.

Tabora Tanzania followup
Continue to pray for those who responded to the Tabora Mission, that the seeds of faith will be well nurtured in those 3,761 who made a commitment
