Asking for money is awkward, John. It's not my favorite part of campaigning (that would be talking to folks in the community!), but when you run for office, you commit to raising the money you need to win.
I know that everyone has different priorities competing for your time, attention, and resources. And pitching in to support this campaign might mean cutting back somewhere else.
Plus, I know you get a lot of fundraising emails -- from us, from other candidates, from organizations doing important work. So many emails! It can be hard to know which are the most important.
Well, this one really is important -- and I'll tell you just why -- but first I have to ask: Can you chip in $5 right now to support this campaign through the final days? Here's the link to give: [link removed]
My finance team let me know that if we don't hit our mid-October online fundraising goal of $150,000 by midnight tonight, we'll have to cut back our voter outreach efforts for the next two weeks. We can't afford to let that happen -- our biggest advantage in this race is that there are 30,000 more registered Democrats than Republicans in the district, and we need every one of them to vote.
If we curtail our outreach plans, we risk losing out on those votes. This is an advantage we can't afford to give up.
So I'm asking personally, because I need your help right now: Can you chip in $5 or more before midnight? Here's that link one more time: [link removed]
Thanks for your support. I couldn't do it without you.
