Hello,
In September, the House voted to condemn racism tied to COVID-19. Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that “at the same time that the coronavirus pandemic is broken out, so too has a disturbing epidemic of hate and discrimination” against the AAPI community.
But this was almost an entirely party-line vote: 164 Republican representatives refused to condemn anti-AAPI discrimination and investigate the rise in aggression and violence of such hate crimes.
That’s why we are supporting eight new congressional candidates, as they’ve fervently demonstrated their commitment to defending our values. They are:
Ammar Campa-Najjar (CA-50), Eugene DePasquale (PA-10), Betsy Dirksen Londrigan (IL-13), Christina Finello (PA-01), Margaret Good (FL-16), Jon Hoadley (MI-06), Donna Imam (TX-31), and Lulu Seikaly (TX-03).
But many of these candidates are at a disadvantage. Their opponents are incumbents, endorsed by Trump, and have dark money fueling their campaigns.
There’s a reason why we endorsed these eight candidates: We firmly believe that they can win, but they need our help. And right now, we don’t have the funds necessary to fully back them towards victory. That’s why we are counting on you.
