Mark it down on your calendar: Wednesday, September 25. That’s the day we’re joining Brave New Films to host watch parties nationwide of their new film, Suppressed: The Fight to Vote.
Last year, the race for Governor of Georgia was decided by 54,723 votes in an election marred by voter suppression and widespread irregularities.
This new documentary brings to light personal stories from voters in Georgia and the very real efforts to suppress the vote we’re seeing in Georgia and across the country.
You can watch the trailer below, then sign up to host a watch party.
We know that our democracy is strongest when every voice can be heard, when every eligible citizen can cast a ballot and have faith that it will be fairly and accurately counted.
To get there, we need to create a national conversation in Congress, in state legislatures, and in the media on voting rights, the realities of voter suppression, and the need for election reform. This documentary helps us do just that.
Will you sign up to host a watch party on September 25?
By hosting a watch party for your community or your neighborhood, you can invite new folks to join the conversation on voting rights. We’ll help you make it a success, and together, we can inspire nothing short of a national awakening around voting rights.
We’re in this together,
Team Fair Fight
