John --

This past week was a very important one for our campaign. We had our final FEC deadline on Wednesday and the very next day, I had a debate against Senator Collins.

There was a lot of pressure -- but this grassroots team stepped up when we needed you to.

Thousands of you chipped in $5, $20, whatever you could afford. I can't thank you enough for that.

We are on a path to win because supporters like you cared enough to invest your time and donations when it really mattered. We've come from behind and now, and according to Nate Silver, we are slightly ahead in the polls.

But the truth is, the next couple of weeks are going to be incredibly difficult. Mitch McConnell knows his Senate majority is at risk, so he will do (and spend) whatever it takes to save Collins' campaign. We can expect even more outrageous attack ads than normal.

That is why I have to ask:

Can I count on you to make a contribution to support our campaign today? Maine is Democrats' best chance to flip a Senate seat so this is incredibly important. You can add your contribution here:

John, nobody said this would be easy. I certainly didn't think this would be a cakewalk when I decided to challenge a four-term incumbent Senator AND do it without taking a dime of corporate PAC money.

But I didn't sign up for easy. I signed up to work incredibly hard and fight my heart out for what I know is right.

Mainers deserve nothing less.

Yours,

Sara Gideon
