As a veteran, I could not be more thrilled to see someone like Jared in public office, or more proud of his record on behalf of Maine’s military men and women.
After running for one of Missouri’s U.S. Senate seats in 2016, I joined the Veterans Community Project in my hometown of Kansas City, where I work to fill the gaps in services for veterans and provide transitional housing to end veteran homelessness nationwide.
In Congress, Jared has pursued a similar course -- prioritizing action and results for his constituents over partisanship and political games.
As someone who confronted post-traumatic stress related to my own military service, I’m immensely proud to see that Jared has successfully pushed for the creation of mental health and substance abuse treatment programs for Maine’s veterans. That’s the kind of leadership we desperately need more of in Washington right now, so we need to get Jared back to Congress.
