Did you see Nydia's letter last week? She laid out all of the different options New Yorkers have for casting their ballot this year, and where to go to learn more about voting in New York.
If you missed it, we've attached her letter below. Here's a quick summary:
Mail-in ballots must be requested by October 27th, so if you're planning on voting by mail, please request yours immediately and make sure to return it as soon as possible. As a reminder, mail-in ballots can be submitted by mail, in person at any early voting location, or at a polling place on Election Day, November 3rd. Mail-in ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday, November 3rd to be counted. You are still eligible to vote in person if you request an absentee ballot.
All New Yorkers can vote early in-person to skip the lines on Election Day from Saturday, October 24th until Sunday, November 1st. Remember: Your early voting site may be different from your Election Day poll site, so make sure to check before you go. There are 17 days until Election Day. The stakes are too high to sit this one out -- make your plan to vote today.
Donald Trump is afraid of your vote. That's why he works so hard to spread disinformation about voting. But here's the truth: Voter fraud of any kind is exceedingly rare in the US, and this year, there are multiple options for making your voice heard in the upcoming election.
Here in New York, every voter has three different options to cast their vote: by mail-in ballot, voting early in person, or voting in person on Election Day, November 3rd, 2020.
If you haven't yet, you can request your mail-in ballot today: https://nycabsentee.com/absentee. And if you're a voter who received a ballot with the wrong name on the envelope, the Board of Elections will be sending you a corrected one.
Early voting starts on Saturday, October 24th, and lasts until Sunday, November 1. Remember: Your early voting polling location may be different from your regular polling place. To find your early voting poll site in New York City, click here: https://findmypollsite.vote.nyc/.
Tuesday, November 3rd is your last chance to vote in person, and your last chance to postmark your mail-in ballot for it to count. Poll sites will be open from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Election Day. Find your Election Day poll site here: https://findmypollsite.vote.nyc/.
