Morning, John. We know it's early on a Saturday so we'll cut right to the chase: tonight at midnight we have our final public filing deadline of this election, and we're falling short of our ambitious $100,000 goal.

When our numbers are made public, the far-right will be poring over them, trying to find any sign of weakness - we can't afford to give them any.

The extreme right is doing everything they can to tear down Roy. From Donald Trump visiting 15 times so far this election, to dark money groups spending nearly $10 MILLION dollars on baseless and divisive attack ads, they're throwing the kitchen sink at us.

And it appears to be working: a new independent poll shows Trump and Biden tied, and Roy's lead cut in half - now, we're just outside the margin of error.

Falling short of our goal before this deadline will signal to these far-right groups that we're vulnerable to further attacks - and with early voting getting underway, we can't afford that.

If you've been waiting to make your first contribution, now's the time to do it, John. Hitting this goal will supercharge our fundraising during the last 18 days of this campaign. Can you rush your first contribution of $10 to help re-elect Roy? >>

We hope everyone is staying safe during this ongoing health emergency. The Cooper Campaign is now working remotely, and we encourage all those who are able to practice social distancing. We've taken the step of cancelling all in-person fundraising for the time being, making grassroots online outreach and fundraising even more critical than before. Roy and the rest of the team will keep working for a more prosperous, better-educated, and healthy North Carolina, and we hope you will stay with us in this fight. Further information on the Coronavirus and our response can be found here.
