On Wednesday morning, the New York Post, one of America’s largest newspapers, published the shocking story “Smoking-gun email reveals how Hunter Biden introduced Ukrainian businessman to VP dad,” with emails and pictures allegedly obtained from a laptop once owned by Hunter Biden.

Almost immediately, Big Tech — especially Twitter and Facebook — went into overdrive, doing everything possible to prevent the story from being shared on their platforms. Not only did Twitter prevent the link from being shared, including blocking an attempt from House Judiciary Committee Republicans, they even went so far as to lock the account of Kayleigh McEnany, the White House Press Secretary.

Big Tech’s rationale for limiting the distribution of this story was utterly laughable: they claimed it had not yet been “verified.” Not only is it not their responsibility to “verify” stories posted on their platforms, any attempt to do so makes them into publishers, and thus opens them up to lawsuits. Furthermore, when have they ever limited the distribution of unverified (or verifiably false) anti-Trump stories and documents, like the Clinton/DNC-concocted “dossier”? (The answer is never).

For years, Republicans have warned the country about leaving the predatory Big Tech giants unchecked. Now these companies are engaging in election interference on a massive and unprecedented scale. They must be held accountable.

PENSACOLA BAY BRIDGE REPAIRS: UPDATES

Repairs to the Pensacola Bay Bridge continue moving forward. One damaged span of the bridge has been removed, and crews continue to remove damaged portions from additional spans in order to minimize impacts to the existing structure. Two of the three barges under the bridge have also been removed, accelerating demolition efforts. To date, 15 of the 27 barges have been removed from the area.

FDOT has been continuously working to improve the traffic flow along the Pensacola Bay Bridge detour routes, and continues to develop and improve alternative transportation solutions to move people and goods safely and efficiently through the region while the bridge is being repaired.

The PBB has a targeted re-opening date of early March 2021. Once repairs are complete, all four lanes will be open with no load restrictions and at the same condition as expected for new construction. As each repair method is developed, FDOT will be conducting reviews to ensure the contractor is hitting all milestones in the established schedule.

The Small Business Administration has opened a Business Recovery Center (BRC) in Pensacola to help businesses impacted by Hurricane Sally. SBA representatives at the Center can provide information about disaster loans, answer questions and assist businesses in completing the SBA application.
