GIVE NOW to Protect
the Medicare Trust Funds!

Dear John,
The timing says it all … The Trump Administration is quickly trying to deliver prescription drug discount cards to 39 million Medicare beneficiaries before Election Day. The nearly $8 billion taxpayer-funded scheme was developed just a couple of weeks ago and would give seniors $200 cards which could be used at pharmacies.
But there's the rub — the money to pay for these last-minute prescription drug discount cards would have to come from somewhere. And we've learned Medicare funds would be siphoned off to pay for this scheme! Opponents of the cards call them nothing more than "gimmicks" that will do little to address the real issue: Big Pharma's unfair drug pricing policies.
There can be no doubt that this is yet another blatant attempt by the Trump Administration to use your earned benefits to further a political agenda that has nothing to do with lowering prescription drug prices or taking on the powerful drug industry. But it would appear that it has everything to do with furthering President Trump's political ambitions. In fact, just a few weeks ago he promised to "terminate" the payroll tax cut if re-elected. This executive action would starve Social Security and Medicare of much-needed revenue and open the door to devastating benefit cuts!
The fact is big pharmaceutical corporations continue to get away with raising drug prices with impunity. And a recent House panel found that Big Pharma dramatically hiked prescription drug prices by hundreds or thousands of percent to boost profits and executive bonuses — and they did it by exploiting Medicare rules.
John, we are counting on the loyal support of our members and supporters to stop threats to the Social Security and Medicare Trust Funds and to fight for real policies that will lower prescription drug costs permanently. Only together can we win this battle for the future of Americans' retirement and health security. So please help us fight for YOU and YOUR EARNED BENEFITS with a contribution in whatever amount you can afford today!
