Well folks, we did it. We outraised Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith AGAIN last quarter!

As I emailed you about earlier, our final FEC fundraising numbers became public last night. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith’s did too.

Cecilia and I did some math, and I am very pleased to tell you: We raised nearly five times more than my incumbent opponent. That’s just incredible.

Here are some more details, if you are interested: Hyde-Smith raised less than $815,000 from July to September, with about one third of it coming at the last minute from some right-wing and corporate PACs.

Team Espy, on the other hand, brought in more than $4 million from 100,000 first-time donors with an average online donation of just $27 during that same time period. This shows just how far-reaching our people-powered movement is!

There’s something else I want to tell you: Most of Senator Hyde-Smith’s Republican colleagues won’t come save her! There are no big-name Senators coming to her aid. Senator Hyde-Smith is the WORST incumbent Republican fundraiser in the Senate — and her party barely came to her rescue.

We have the momentum to finish the Hyde-Smith campaign off. We moved the needle in this race, and now I’m just one point behind Hyde-Smith in the latest poll.

But I’ve got to tell you, the energy just hasn’t been the same in October as it was in September. And if we’re going to go the distance and win, we need to keep the momentum going until the very end.
