GOP Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska was recorded on a constituent call expressing his concern that Trump is going to cost Republicans control of the Senate because of, in his own words:
"The way he kisses dictators' butts”
The way "the United States now regularly sells out our allies under his leadership”
“The way he treats women”
The way Trump "mocks evangelicals behind closed doors”
The way he “has treated the presidency like a business opportunity"
The fact that he’s "flirted with white supremacists"
Sasse said that the question for Republicans would be, “What the heck were any of us thinking, that selling a TV-obsessed, narcissistic individual to the American people was a good idea?”
Talk about being a day late and a dollar short!
Let’s remember that we’ve heard many reports, all throughout the Trump presidency, that Republicans in Congress – and especially in the Senate – routinely speak about Trump in this way behind closed doors and “off the record.”
And let’s remember that ALL of them, just like Ben Sasse, have been consistent rubber stamps on Trump’s judicial nominees and his abhorrent policies, and all but one voted to acquit him of his lawless and corrupt impeachable offenses.
That’s why we need to vote the bums out. As many as we can who are up for reelection. And take away Mitch McConnell and the other GOP cowards’ power by FLIPPING control of the U.S. Senate to the Democrats.
