This is urgent, John. Republican senate leaders flouted committee rules and scheduled a vote on Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s Supreme Court nomination for NEXT WEEK.

Election Day is less than 20 days away. More than *17 million* votes have already been cast. The American people deserve to have a say in our next Supreme Court justice. We cannot let senators jam through a lifetime appointment in the middle of a presidential election.

This entire process has been filled with rule flouting and norm breaking. We must demand that our senators do everything in their power to ensure that voters get a say in the future of the Supreme Court.

Judge Barrett proved in her confirmation hearings that she is a Second Amendment extremist. If she is confirmed to the Supreme Court, all the gun safety laws we’ve worked so hard for—from background checks to safe storage measures to Extreme Risk Protection Orders—will be at risk.

We know that with all the hardship and bad news this year has brought, it can be difficult to keep up with the latest “unprecedented event.” It’s hard not to feel numb or to give up hope. But we cannot give up. Lives depend on it. We must keep fighting to keep our communities safe.
