John,

Across the state, Arizonans are now voting, and that's why it's urgent that you tell your friends and family to Vote NO on Proposition 207!

Prop 207 is 17 pages of sweeping new laws that are neither smart nor safe for Arizona. The initiative is written and funded by marijuana industry insiders looking to cash in on a new commercial industry in Arizona. The consequences will harm our kids, our safety, and our economy.
So, what will Prop 207 do?

Cause harm to Arizona children.
  • More kids will use it — harming developing brains
  • Won't stop daycare workers from using marijuana before coming to work
  • Marijuana-laced candies, cookies, and vape pens will be marketed to teens on TV and social media

Put you in more danger on the road.
  • Lead to an increase in impaired drivers and traffic deaths — 69% of Colorado users admit to driving stoned
  • Removes current marijuana DUI standards
  • No roadside test exists to gauge marijuana impairment

Negatively impact Arizona's economy.
  • Weakens employers’ right to maintain a drug-free workplace
  • Creates a monopoly for marijuana industry insiders
  • Caps the marijuana tax at 16% regardless of the cost to Arizona — CO spends $4.50 in marijuana costs for every $1 of revenue
  • Would allocate no money for K-12 education

Key takeaway: Laws passed by ballot propositions in Arizona are nearly impossible for lawmakers to change or update, leaving Arizonans stuck with the consequences.

A large coalition is opposing Prop 207, including Congressman Andy Biggs, Congresswoman Debbie Lesko, Congressman Paul Gosar, Senate President Karen Fann, House Speaker Rusty Bowers, Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Greater Phoenix Chamber, Southern Arizona Leadership, Center for Arizona Policy Action, Arizona Free Enterprise Club, Arizona Sheriffs Association, Arizona State Troopers Association, Arizona Medical Association, and more! Even if you support the idea of marijuana legalization or decriminalization, this is the wrong way to do it. Arizona can — and must — do better.

Republican leadership has made Arizona one of the best states in the country to raise a family, run a business, work for a living, and, ultimately, retire. Defeating Prop 207 will go a long ways toward keeping it that way.
