Could Texas turn blue?

It's a question that's been on the minds of Democratic organizers for years.

With 18 days to go, it looks like 2020 might finally be the year. In her race against Senator John Cornyn, MJ Hegar is so very close to victory, but this is what you need to know:

MJ's race is the only competitive race for the Senate where our Democratic champion is being outspent by the Republican incumbent. Chip in now and let's help even the score. We can win this one.

But that's the political reason. Let me give you the personal one, too.

MJ Hegar is an inspiring leader with an extraordinary life story.

Raised by a single mom who helped MJ and her sister escape domestic violence, MJ joined the Air Force after college. After four years as an aircraft maintenance officer, she achieved one of her dreams—she qualified for flight school.

After finishing at the top of her class, she flew over 100 missions in Afghanistan as a combat search and rescue helicopter pilot.

But in July 2009, on her third tour, she was shot down and wounded near Kandahar during a rescue. During the rescue of her crew, she was forced to fly out hanging from the chopper's skids, while returning fire to the Taliban.

For her bravery, she became the second woman ever to be awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with Valor.

Since then, she successfully lobbied the Pentagon to end the ban on women serving in combat roles, started a family, taught at the University of Texas, and ran for Congress in 2018, barely losing in a deep-red district.

Now, she's running for the US Senate.

And she's got a great shot if we help her. And even better, she's going to make a great US Senator. I can't wait to serve with her.

So, chip in. It's time for the final push. Make a donation and let's push MJ over the top!

Onward!

Jeff
