Take a minute and pause. Picture yourself sitting next to a clear, flowing stream. Can you hear the water burbling over the stones? Smell the fresh air? Feel the cool water on your bare feet?
With so much uncertainty in our lives right now, it’s nice to know that rivers are a constant. There’s something powerful about moving water. We depend on rivers as sources of peace, hope and inspiration. They nurture our bodies, minds and spirits and strengthen our communities. We literally can’t live without them.
So this election season, I hope you’ll vote with rivers in mind. The health of our environment and the health of our families depend on the health of our democracy. That means exercising your right and responsibility to vote.
