John,
Republicans have it in for Lauren Underwood.
Underwood is finishing her first term in Congress, after a career as a registered nurse and public health official. Since being sworn in, she has been a powerful, progressive voice for justice in health care, especially during the pandemic. No wonder Republicans are spending big to defeat her in Illinois’ 14th district.
Underwood flipped a district that voted 60% Republican in 2016, and she did it while running on an unapologetically progressive platform: lowering prescription drug costs and health care premiums while expanding Social Security and Medicare.
Donate directly to Lauren Underwood’s reelection campaign today to return a health care champion to the House to maintain our progressive majority and fight to expand access to health care and lower prescription drug costs.
Ice cream mogul Jim Oberweis, the Republican, has repeatedly attacked our access to health care and opposed cutting prescription drug costs for Medicare recipients.
The Blue Wave of 2018 brought in the most diverse freshman class in Congressional history. Many of these freshmen won by flipping traditionally red seats―including Lauren Underwood―and they need our help to protect and expand our progressive House majority in 2020.
If we’re going to expand Social Security and Medicare next year, we must not only win back the White House and Senate. We must defend vulnerable progressives who have stood by our side to strengthen our earned benefits and lower prescription drug costs.
Donate directly to Lauren Underwood’s campaign today to send a health care champion back to Congress to defend and expand our access to health care.
Thank you for fighting for the future of our country.
