You feel this moment just like I do. Every second, the anticipation grows. Election Day feels like a turning point that will change the course of human history—because it will. On November 4th, the sun will rise on a different United States, and no one can say for certain what we will wake to find. That day is coming, and we are in the final countdown.

18 days. In 18 days, the outcome of this election will define the rest of our lives. We either rise against facism and climate injustice, or we prepare for the most difficult decade we’ve lived yet. Everything is on the line: the Senate. COVID-19. The climate crisis. Millions of Americans are losing their jobs, their homes, and soon they could lose their healthcare if Republicans get the Supreme Court. So what do we do?

Last week we laid out our plan: Organize. Vote. Then—if Trump refuses to accept a loss—Strike. We will shut down the country.

We will VOTE in mass numbers in the biggest youth turnout ever to demonstrate our power to the elite establishment and tell them: we are wide awake to your corruption and hypocrisy. Your time is up.

We will hold election officials accountable and make sure every person is heard and every vote counted.

Trump will lose. And there is a possibility he will refuse to leave office. There is a chance our votes will decisively say, “GTFO!” and Trump will try to—maybe violently—say, “No.”

If that happens, then we, the largest generation in American history, will STRIKE and SHUT DOWN the biggest and wealthiest country in the world. We will bring the United States of America to a full and complete stop until Trump leaves office. We will send a clear message that our elections are not subject to one man’s ego.

And Sunrise is not the only organization in on this plan. We’re teaming up with youth movements for racial, economic, and immigrant justice, so we all can prepare for action as one. We are the youth power all-star dream team, and we are united by a common cause to save our future. Together, we are unstoppable.
