Weekly travel update in Nottingham 16 October - 23 October
Coronavirus update
Since Wednesday 14 October, Nottingham has been placed in the High Tier category of restrictions.
Please carefully follow travel safety advice to keep yourself and others protected - everyone has a responsibility to themselves, to those around them and to their loved ones.
- Consider walking and cycling as your primary means of transport if you can
- Plan ahead so as to reduce the number of journeys you make, and avoid travelling at peak times and on busy public transport routes
- It is vital you wear a face covering for your entire journey when using public transport, including waiting at stops, unless you are exempt for health reasons
- Keep your distance from others as best you can
- Always wash your hands before/after your journey and use available sanitising points
- Do not travel if you or anyone you live with are experiencing symptoms of Coronavirus
Download the NHS Covid19 Track & Trace app, to keep yourself and those you love protected. Find out more on how to download here...
Walking and Cycling
When making a journey, please plan your journey in advance and consider walking or cycling, especially if your journey is local.
Did you know 70% of journeys made by car are under five miles, which if cycled would take just 30 minutes? Cycling can be an extremely efficient transport method, and is great for social distancing and avoiding crowds.
Emergency Active Travel Fund
A range of pop up cycle lanes, street closures and cycle parking facilities have been put in place across the city as part of the Emergency Active Travel Fund to encourage more active travel during the covid-19 pandemic.
The last scheme, a pop up cycle lane along Carlton Road, has been installed this week, finalising the first round of scheme installations.
For more information on EATF schemes and where you can find them, visit our website.
