Judge Amy Coney Barrett

Judge Amy Coney Barrett Represents a New, Conservative Feminism

By: Jim Daly

As I write, the third day of Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings are underway.

Tuesday’s marathon questioning ran the gamut from Democrats pressing Judge Barrett on the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), abortion and issues related to LGBT matters.
Through it all, the judge was poised, articulate and clearly in command. It’s obvious to even many of her detractors why she’s held in such high esteem.

Modern-day Supreme Court confirmation hearings have evolved into national platforms for senators to make extended statements as well as ask questions. Some do more of the former than the latter.

Censor Report on Hunter Biden
Facebook and Twitter Censor Report on Hunter Biden Introducing Joe Biden to Ukrainian Businessman
By: Zachary Mettler

Facebook and Twitter are censoring and reducing the distribution of a New York Post article that highlights how Hunter Biden allegedly introduced his father, Joe Biden, to a Ukrainian foreign businessman while he was on the board of the company.

The New York Post published two articles Wednesday morning that claimed to reveal that Hunter Biden introduced his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, “to a top executive at a Ukrainian energy firm less than a year before the elder Biden pressured government officials in Ukraine into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the company.”

“The never-before-revealed meeting is mentioned in a message of appreciation that Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board of Burisma, allegedly sent Hunter Biden on April 17, 2015, about a year after Hunter joined the Burisma board at a reported salary of up to $50,000 a month,” The Post wrote.

The email obtained by The Post reveals the Ukrainian businessman wrote to Hunter, “Thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father… It’s really an honor and pleasure.”

Smithsonian Museum goes Woke
Smithsonian Museum’s Woke, Progressive Exhibit “Girlhood” Is About Politics, Transgender Women and Margaret Sanger
By: Brittany Raymer

The Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. recently announced that it will be opening a new exhibit, entitled “Girlhood (It’s Complicated),” that highlights Planned Parenthood’s founder Margaret Sanger, Jazz Jennings, a transgender girl, and talks about girls being political. I’m not sure what “girlhood” the Smithsonian is talking about, as it definitely wasn’t mine.

The idea of an exhibit on “Girlhood” at the Smithsonian Museum is great. It sounded like a great opportunity to reminisce on my childhood in Southern California playing with Barbies, dancing, American Girl dolls, camping, sunshine, the beach and going to Disneyland more times than I could count. Growing up, I really could not have been more blessed, but my childhood is something that the Smithsonian blatantly disparages in its exhibit.

In a description about the exhibit, the museum states, “The history of girlhood is not what people think; it is complicated. Young women are often told that girls are ‘made of sugar and spice and everything nice.’ What we learn from the past is that girls are made of stronger stuff. They changed history. From Helen Keller to Naomi Wadler, girls have spoken up, challenged expectations, and been on the front lines of social change. Although definitions of girlhood have changed, what it means to grow up female in the United States has always been part of the American conversation.”

Merriam-Webster Changes Definition of ‘Preference’ Same Day that Liberals Attack Judge Amy Coney Barrett for Using Phrase ‘Sexual Preference’
By: Bruce Hausknecht

Merriam-Webster traces its history in the dictionary business back to the early 1800s, when Noah Webster published his A Compendious Dictionary of the English Language. The Merriam brothers later bought the rights to Webster’s dictionary. The company is currently owned by The Encyclopedia Britannica, Inc.

Given Merriam-Webster’s longstanding and venerable history, it is curious to see it get involved in hot-button political issues surrounding the confirmation hearings of Judge Amy Coney Barrett. The evidence suggests that the dictionary changed its online definition of the word “preference” on Tuesday, after Judge Barrett used the phrase “sexual preference” in response to a question from Senator Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., about how she would handle a case involving same-sex marriage.

“Senator, I have no agenda, and I do want to be clear that I have never discriminated on the basis of sexual preference and would not ever discriminate on the basis of sexual preference,” Barrett said.

The Left immediately took to social media and swarmed the judge’s use of the phrase “sexual preference.” Within minutes of Judge Barrett’s use of the phrase, criticisms started appearing on Twitter.
LGBT History Month
October is ‘LGBT History Month’ – Who Are Your Children Learning About in School?

By: Jeff Johnston

We’re almost half-way through “LGBT History Month,” which “celebrates the achievements of 31 lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender Icons [sic].” Students of all ages, from kindergarten through college, are the target audience for teaching “LGBT History.”

The history month organizers make this clear as they quote George Chauncey, Chair of Yale University’s History Department, on their website. He said, “LGBT History Month sends an important message to our nation’s teachers, school boards, community leaders, and youth about the vital importance of recognizing and exploring the role of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people in American history.”

The month is supported by a broad spectrum of activist and education organizations – and more. This year, Nabisco’s Oreo cookies jumped on the bandwagon, The Christian Post reported, “giving away 10,000 packages of special edition #ProudParent Oreo cookies, which feature ‘rainbow-colored creme,’ to people who share a photo on social media showing what LGBT ‘allyship’ means to them.”

Given the efforts to teach children as young as 5 years old about homosexuality and transgenderism, it’s important for parents to be aware of what their children are studying and learning about. This is true even in the age of COVID, where many students are still learning at home.
