Nottingham City Council is backing businesses in the city, calling urgently for more financial support from the Government after it put the city and county into the High Alert, Tier 2 category for coronavirus restrictions.
In his letter this week to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak, Council Leader, David Mellen made it very clear that this will have a significant impact on local businesses in the hospitality and leisure sectors which face a further drop off in trade at a crucial time when many are already fighting for survival.
Many businesses in the city, and those who provide employment for Nottingham residents, have faced challenge upon challenge and are now at breaking point. We are urging the Government to bring forward a bespoke business support package to protect jobs in Tier 2 areas like Nottingham.
We need the Government to support this city, to back you and your business, and would like to call on you, as a valued and hardworking member of this great city?s business community, to add your voice and support in sending this message to Government.
Share your pledge, join us in calling for more support for Nottingham. Together our voices are louder. Tweet @MyNottingham #BackingBusiness today.
Enterprise Nation
Enterprise Nation launches a national programme with UK Government and the Professional and Business Services sector to offer six months of free support and advice to thousands of small businesses recovering from the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic.
This programme has been created due to the overwhelming demand on the Government's business support helpline, which has been attracting tens of thousands of calls per day in recent months. Businesses will be directed to the Enterprise Nation platform to access free calls with expert advisers for Tier 2 levels of support.
Upon arriving on Enterprise Nation, business owners will first be invited to take a Make A Plan diagnostic tool, which will then identify the areas and specific levels of support needed. Businesses will then receive an actionable plan, with recommendations on advisers to connect with to access free advice calls, alongside recommended content, events and offers on products/services.
