Another Win For Safe Mail-in Voting: Federal Judge Upholds Rights of New Jersey Voters

Last week, a federal judge blocked the Trump campaign's efforts to overturn New Jersey’s emergency election provisions, following intervention by CLC and partners.

This decision will help preserve the ability to vote safely and securely during the pandemic and avoid chaos and confusion.

This is one of the latest examples of judges rebuking efforts to undermine safe and secure voting decisions made by states. Late last month, a federal court upheld Montana Gov. Steve Bullock’s directive allowing Montana’s counties to proceed with conducting secure vote-by-mail elections this November – which 46 of Montana’s 56 counties have chosen to do. CLC is representing the League of Women Voters of Montana as a friend-of-the-court in this Montana case.
