You count on Democracy Now! to stay focused on the stories that matter most. We count on you to support our daily global news hour.
In a world of climate catastrophes, endless war, unchecked corporate greed and growing economic and racial inequality, lifting up the voices of people who are standing up and fighting back has never been more important.
That's exactly what we do, day in and day out.
If Democracy Now! is your source for news you can trust, please join our monthly sustainer program and make a gift today of $15 a month or more.
Right now, a generous donor has offered to TRIPLE your new monthly sustaining donation, meaning your gift will go three times as far to support Democracy Now!

To bring you the voices of people at the heart of every story, we need a strong base of monthly supporters—supporters we can count on to be there for us, whether we're reporting on the immigration crisis from the Sonoran Desert on the U.S.-Mexico border, or interviewing 16-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg in our New York studio.
|
|
Greta joined us today for her first extended broadcast interview in the United States. She took a two-week journey on a zero-emissions sailboat to New York City to join the global climate strike on September 20 and address the U.N. Climate Action Summit on September 23.

When Greta was 8 or 9, she learned about climate change, studying the issue extensively. The world's lack of concern about the climate crisis depressed her. Greta stopped speaking, stopped eating.
"Then I started to feel better because I saw that there are actually things you can do. I shouldn’t be sitting here doing nothing, wasting my time, when I can actually have an impact. So I became a climate activist," Greta said on Democracy Now!

You turn to Democracy Now! because we go to where the silence is and shine a spotlight on those taking a stand against corporate and government abuses of power.
|
|
We maintain our editorial independence because our program is sponsored by you, our dedicated global audience—not by the oil, gas and coal companies when we cover global warming, not by the weapons manufacturers when we cover war.
But that means we can't do this without your help. Please—today—start your automatic monthly donation to support Democracy Now!, your daily global news hour.
