The map above showing the number of same-sex couples per 1,000 households was one of the first images that the Williams Institute created almost 20 years ago. We could not have produced that map—or so much of our work—without Census data. It quite literally put us on the map.
Today, October 15, is the last full day to fill out your Census. So if you haven’t filled it out yet, you still have time. Here's how to complete your Census form right now:

PAPER Census forms must be postmarked by October 15, 2020
Census data has been such a critical part of our work and developing LGBT law and policy. Through analysis of Census data, we have been able to show that LGBT people live throughout the country, share in its diversity, marry, parent, and serve in the military. We have also worked hand-in-hand with the Census Bureau to improve data about LGBT people through the Census and other Census Bureau surveys.
If you haven’t already, please take a moment to complete your Census and encourage others to as well.
